Veggie/vegan restaurants in London

Went for a delicious lunch in Mildrid's in Lexington St, Soho yesterday: http://www.mildreds.co.uk/

Been there a few times and the food is always good altho the service can be a bit slow/forgetful.

This time I had vegan burritos followed a truly divine vegan Ginger Cheesecake (cheese=tofu). I know it's greedy to have a pudding with lunch but it feels rude to decline a vegan pud when it's on offer!

Keen to try Saf soon: http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/restaurants/saf-review-37074.html. Anyone been yet?

Beatroot looks great for lunch: http://www.london-eating.co.uk/6125.htm.

Will try that out when I'm next in the area.

Yes I've been there too, about 10 years ago - it looked just like a 1950s cafe, but the food was great.

There used to be a Mildred's on Cherry Orchard Road in Croydon, around 1984ish - which was just around the corner from where I lived. It was fantastic and incredibly eccentric. Ran by two elderly sisters, basically you dined in their front room, of a Victorian terrace - but the food was amazing. Even my total carnivore friends loved it.

I did wonder if it was the same people running the Soho one.
