RE: Introduce yourself

Hi Emma

I know what you mean - I had my 3rd baby in Jan 08 and was back at work by the end of March 08.  It felt too quick but financially we had little choice.  thats whats made Fantasweets getting so busy so quickly such a buzz - but it still feels too scarey to actually stop the full time employment - which really I do need to do as i'm sometimes up as late as midnight cooking for a party or exhibition (wedding fayre, etc) and decorating the cakes the next morning at some unheard of hour!  The older 2 children (a boy of 12 and a girl of 8) are fantastic and always help out - they love it!  In fact 9/10 i have to chase my son out of the kitchen so that i can get in there and do my cooking before hes used all the ingredients (his favorite is my chocolate biscuit cake recipe and he can't make enough of it!).  My 8 year old love to make my ginger biscuits and sit and cut out the shapes - then ice them when they're cooked!  Whenever she has friends round they always like to bake!

We're moving house soon (hopefully!) and there will be a seperate area in the new house for me to turn into a full time Fantasweets area so life will be much much easier keeping the business seperate from family life - like you the dining room is our fantasweets area and i think everyone is a little fed up with eating off their laps!

I wish you well Emma and hope you do manage to find the balance to make family like work with a business in the house.  If you're not confident about giving up your work then i really wouldn't yet - there's plenty of time still xx
