I am passionate about protecting the natural world that we live in, and the rainforests of Latin America in particular. I have created Love Gaia with the aim of ultimately doing everything possible to protect the rainforests and its peoples. The rainforests are crucial to our living because they provide or strongly influence the following: the air we breathe, the global climatic systems, the foods we eat, the medicines we use. We can all begin to make changes in our lives which limit the impact upon the environment and Wikaniko provides people in the UK with an easy way to buy everyday items to help them do this from the comfort of their own home. Plastic - a legacy for the next seven generations
Plastic degrades incredibly slowly. Already it is causing environmental problems as 'plastic islands' are gathering in various locations in our oceans. Not only is this unsightly, it is also dangerous to wildlife, causing unnecessary suffering and death.
There are various things we can do to limit the damage done by plastics. The first is to be conscious when we are shopping as to how much plastic we are taking home - especially in packaging - and choosing other options wherever possible.
